The scorching summer heat in Delhi is relentless, especially for our elderly citizens who are laborers, rickshaw pullers, and those with no support. They've spent their lives toiling under the sun without adequate protection or aid. At Impact Guru Foundation, we're dedicated to aiding these vulnerable members of our community through our summer-specific campaign.
India is facing one of its worst heatwaves, with temperatures hitting 52 degrees Celsius. Elderly laborers, rickshaw pullers, and the unsupported endure severe health risks like dehydration and heatstroke. Their situation is dire.
In the words of a weary rickshaw puller, "Every day, I pull my rickshaw under the scorching sun, hoping for relief that never comes. My body aches, my throat is parched, but I have mouths to feed. I pray for someone to help us survive this heat."
Daily wage laborers echo his anguish, "Every day feels like a battle against the sun. We struggle to earn our bread under its merciless glare, with no respite in sight. We need help to endure."
Many lack access to essentials like water, shade, or medical care. Without proper support, the intense heat can be life-threatening. Impact Guru Foundation's summer campaign provides immediate relief:
IGF is carrying out Essential Kits Distribution: Kits include water bottles, ORS packets, fruits, hats, and umbrellas for hydration and sun protection.
